Remote Indoor Construction Progress Monitoring Using Extended Reality

Construction Progress monitoring noticed recent expansions by adopting vision and laser technologies. However, inspectors need to personally visit the job-site or wait for a time gap process data captured from construction site use inspection. Recent inspection methods lacks automation real-time exchange, therefore, it needs manpower each job-site, health risk of physical interaction between workers inspector, loss energy, loss, consumption. To address this issue, near work system called iVR is proposed; integrates 3D scanning, extended reality, visual programming visualize interactive onsite indoor activities provide numeric data. The comprises five modules: iVR-location finder (finding scanner located in site) iVR-scan (capture point cloud activity), iVR-prepare (processes convert scan into model), iVR-inspect (conduct immersive reality office), iVR-feedback (visualize feedback using augmented reality). An experimental lab test conducted verify applicability process; successfully exchanges required information office specific time. This expected assist Engineers quality assessment, progress assessments, decision-making which can realize productive practical communication platform, unlike conventional capturing, processing, storage methods, involve storage, compatibility time-consumption issues.
